Merry Christmas Give-Away

We've gotten some Christmas decorations put up, as you can see from this photo.  This is how we roll in the Chitwood house - candy canes on a basketball hoop.

My all time favorite Christmas decoration is this sign, which Tyler made when he was younger.  These are some of my favorite words in Scripture, and I love that I have them in Tyler's handwriting.  If you have younger bugaboos who can write, you might want to get them to copy this Scripture and then display it in a frame.  I treasure having something in my kids' earlier handwriting.  And then you can talk about the words of the Scripture with them while you do this.

Now if this is too much to write - don't get frustrated with your little bugaboo as Amy my friend did.  Just get them to write out a small passage or maybe wait till they're older!

And He will be called
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Today for my quiet time, I'm going to dwell on how thankful I am to have a God who loves us so much that He would be all these and give us His counsel, His might, His steadfastness, His peace.

And for some fun Christmas shopping, I'm giving away a $20 Target gift card on Karen Ehman's blog.  So go visit her and you'll see she's doing a whole series of give-aways.  Karen is an amazing, funny, real, and faithful woman, and fellow speaker at Proverbs 31 ministries, so check out some of her past posts, too.  And her beautiful daugher who just moved to Charlotte is staying with us for awhile!  How fun!
